Emmy Scrunchies is a small Egyptian maker of handmade satin hair accessories. We only ask for the information we genuinely need to take your order, deliver it, and keep your account secure. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Emmy Scrunchies sells handmade satin scrunchies, heatless curls, and fabric pouches, shipped across Egypt. We are the controller of the personal information described below.
What we collect
- Order & delivery details: your name, phone number, email address, and delivery address (including governorate and city). We need these to confirm your order and deliver it to you.
- Account details: if you create an account, your name, email, phone, and an encrypted password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Order history: the products you ordered, amounts, and order status, so you can view past orders and we can handle delivery and any cancellation.
- Messages you send us: anything you share when you contact us on WhatsApp or by email.
We do not ask for card details. You pay either by Cash on Delivery— the courier collects when your order arrives — or by InstaPay transfer that you send yourself.
How we use your information
- To process, prepare, and deliver your order.
- To contact you about your order (confirmation, delivery, or a problem with an item).
- To create and secure your account, and to verify your email address.
- To handle cancellations and any after-sales help, within our return policy.
- To keep records we are required to keep as a business.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share what is necessary to run the store and fulfil your order:
- Delivery couriers— your name, address, and phone number so they can deliver your order and collect any Cash on Delivery payment.
- Our hosting and store software (WordPress / WooCommerce and our hosting provider) which stores order and account data securely on our behalf.
Cookies & local storage
We keep our use of cookies and browser storage to the minimum needed for the shop to work. We use:
- A secure sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in to your account. It is stored securely and cannot be read by other websites.
- Your browser's local storageto remember your shopping bag, wishlist, and saved checkout details so you don't have to re-type them.
These are essential for the store to function. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies (no analytics pixels, no ad networks). You can clear this storage at any time from your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep order and account information for as long as your account is active and as long as we are required to for our records. You can ask us to delete your account; we will remove what we are not legally required to retain.
Your choices
- You can view and update your details and order history from your account.
- You can ask us to correct or delete your information by messaging us on WhatsApp.
- You can check out as a guest without creating an account.
Keeping your data safe
Your password is stored encrypted, your sign-in uses a secure token, and our checkout and account pages are served over HTTPS. No method of storage is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
